Muirdykes Water Treatment Works

In July 2016, Jackson Steel commenced the fabrication and erection of 90 tonnes of structural steelwork plus associated roof and wall cladding.

The project consisted of a single storey portal frame structure 48m long x 30m wide x 11m high to the ridge. The building was constructed over a concrete compartmentalised structure. There was no access inside the building footprint and limited access around the perimeter. The steelwork was generally erected with the aid of 28m long boom MEWPs. In some areas, we had to utilise another crane with a man basket to access steel connections.

The roof was clad with KS1000RW ( 137 ) composite panel sheeting.

The walls were clad with KS1000RW ( 80 ) composite panels laid vertically.

The cladding package was completed with louvres, rainwater goods and polyester powder coated rainwater pipes.
