The steel erection for this project commenced in snowy conditions, in January 2017. In total, Jackson Steel supplied 170 tonnes of structural steelwork plus associated cold rolled steel, single skin roof and wall cladding, rainwater goods and louvres.
The new Biomass facility consists of the main gasifier building, a substation, an engine screen and three external pipe-bridge structures. The main Gasifier building is 50m long x 25m wide x 16m high to the ridge. The building features lattice truss roof girders supported on main columns with crane rails at 10m above floor level. Lateral restraint to the structure was provided by horizontal and vertical bracing panels.
