In May 2017, asbestos cement roof cladding was removed from a funeral director’s Chapel of Rest at Broomfield Road, Montrose. The old cladding was replaced by new KS1000RW composite panels with 137mm thick insulation. New gutters, fascias and rainwater pipe connections completed the project.
The main focus of this job was to cause minimum disruption to a funeral business which had to remain functional at all times. One side of the building was on a busy road and we had to control the traffic while carrying out roof work. The other side of the building was bounded by a well-manicured garden and great care was extended to ensure that we did not damage any of the neighbour’s bedding plants and shrubs.
Most of the work was undertaken over one weekend. However, gutter, fascia, verge and rainwater connections were carried out during normal working hours. Our men respectfully stopped work during funeral services and we are pleased to report that the project was completed to the complete satisfaction of the client and neighbouring properties.
